Fees may be charged to sellers with professional account levels on PI GATES (Freelance, Pro and Gold) for the use of some of PI GATES services. This Fees and Payments Policy explains your fees and taxes and how to pay them.

These rules form part of our Terms of Service. By opening a Professional account on PI GATE, you agree to abide by these rules and our Terms of Use.

1. Types of fees

Sellers may be required to pay the following types of fees. Note that the charges shown do not include any Value Added Tax (VAT) or similar taxes that may apply. See the Taxes section below for more details. It is important to note that all fees for services offered by PI GATES, including prepaid fees, are non-refundable.

Subscription fees for Professional accounts :

Professionals who wish to open professional accounts on PI GATES can opt for one of the plans offered by PI GATES, with subscription packages that offer different ranges of tools and solutions to facilitate the management of your professional activities, and improve the visibility and sale of your services and products to your customers in your region and in the 4 cins of the world. PI GATES subscription pricing details are detailed on the (Professional Membership Plans) page. PI GATES subscription fees are deducted from your current balance each month, and are reflected in your Payment account.

Automatic renewal. Subscription fees will be added to your payment account on the same day every month. For example, if you join on March 5, your subscription fee will be added on April 5, May 5, etc. If you sign up at the end of the month, your subscription fee will be added to your payment account on the last day of the month. For example, if you sign up on May 31, the subscription fee will be added on June 30 because that is the last day of the month. You can cancel your PI GATES subscription at any time in the Your subscription section of your Store Manager settings. You will have access to Your PI GATES subscription until the end of that subscription term, and Your last day of access will be shown on Your subscription dashboard. Once the PI GATES subscription is terminated,

While you are a PI GATES Professional subscriber with membership plan, you get the different benefits and capabilities for each level of PI GATES Professional plans during each term subscription, you could see details of memberships plans on PI GATES here

Professional subscribers on PI GATES have the possibility to register domains for free at “pi-gate.com/store/the name of your online store/”. .

Transaction Fees and Charges

When you make a sale on PI GATES, transaction fees and charges corresponding to (buyer protection and seller protection insurance fees, online payment fees and also the fees for implementing PI GATE services) the details of the transaction fees are: (from 14% to 20% of the price displayed for each product sheet excluding taxes + a fixed fee of €2.49) are detailed on the transaction invoice which will be sent to the sellers as:

  • Transaction Charges: (7% of the price displayed for each product sheet excluding taxes + a fixed fee of €1.99), these fees are to cover the costs of (buyer protection insurance and seller protection costs, payment costs online using different means of online payment and different quotes, and also the costs of verifying the identity of the sellers), except for the bank transfer costs will be (10% of the price displayed for each product sheet excluding taxes + fixed costs of €1.99),additional fees may be applied depending on the method of payment requested by the seller to send him his share of each sale made in his online store (as in the case where the seller asks to receive his share of each transaction made in his account by Western Union or other mode of international money transfer).
  • Fees and Commissions: (10% of the price displayed for each product sheet excluding taxes + a fixed fee of €0.50) these fees are to cover the costs of (implementing PI GATE services).

If you use PI GATES Payments and list your items for sale in a currency other than your payment account currency, see the Currency Conversion section below for details on transaction fees.

Goods and Services Tax (“GST”), and Value Added Tax (“VAT”) are already included in your selling prices in the price indicated on your listing (service or product) and will be paid to you. after PI GATES fees have been deducted.

See the Taxes section later in this document for more details and whether you need to include applicable taxes in your listing prices. Transaction fees are deducted from your current balance each time a sale occurs, and are reflected in your payment account.

Advertising and promotional costs :

PI GATE offers several services to help you promote your product and service listings and your store, including PI GATES Advertising and External Advertising.

Advertising costs on PI GATES

If you buy paid advertisements on PI GATES, you find in the details of the page (Highlight your Business Account) to highlight certain products and services and like (Featured Product). PI GATES Advertising fees are charged for a pressed limited period for each advertising plan, deducted from your current balance and reflected in your payment account or you can pay directly on the internal advertising plans page offered by PI GATES.

External Advertising Fees

PI GATES buys advertising space from several partners, including social networks and search engines. If your listing is one of those ads, and a buyer clicks on it and then places one or more orders in your store within 30 days of that click, you’ll be charged advertising fees for those orders (which we’ll collectively refer to as “Assigned Orders”.

The Offsite Advertising fee you will be charged for assigned Orders depends on the amount of sales your store has made in the previous 365 days.

Payment processing fees

Online sales. PI GATES stores that have the ability can use PI GATES Payments to accept certain payments through PI GATES (you can find more information about PI GATES Payments below). Payment processing fees are charged for each transaction made via PI GATES Payments (in France and in the EU countries of the SEPA area the fees for each sale transaction are (12% of the total sale price + 3 Payment processing fees vary depending on where your bank account is located. For some markets, a fixed transfer fee may be charged on disbursements of seller funds that are below certain established thresholds, and also additional fees may be applied with the transfer of funds according to the different quotes and countries of transfer of funds. See the PI GATES Payments Policy on this page for details of payment processing fees and charges, and where applicable, transfer fees, by country. Payment processing fees are calculated on the total sale amount, including taxes and shipping. The payment processing fee is deducted from the sale amount in your payment account. Transfer fees are deducted from your available funds and appear in your payment account at the time the transfer is scheduled. taxes and shipping included. 

Automatic renewal. Your subscription fees will automatically renew. You can discontinue your subscription at any time by clicking “Cancel Pattern” in Pattern settings on your dashboard or from your payment account. If you discontinue service after your subscription renews on the first day of the month, you will be charged the full subscription fee for that month.

All subscription fees and charges for using services or advertising on PI GATES are non-refundable and are reflected in your payment account and deducted from your current balance.

Currency conversion

With the exception of transaction fees, External Advertising fees, payment processing fees, regulatory operating fees and transfer fees, PI GATES converts the fees into (Euro) in the currency of your account of payment at the market rate at the time such charges are reflected in your payment account. All charges appear in your payment account in your local currency.

Transaction Fees, Offsite Advertising Fees, Regulatory Operating Fees: If you list your items for sale in a currency other than the currency of your payment account, the transaction fees and any Offsite Advertising fees and operating fees will be converted into the currency of your payment account, at the market rate, and reflected in your payment account.

To avoid exchange fees on your sales, PI GATES recommends that you list your (services and products) in the same currency as your payment account. Buyers see items in the currency of their choice. As a PI GATES Payments user, if you decide to list in a currency other than that of your payment account, you will be charged a 4.5% currency conversion fee on the amount of the sale for the transfer of funds to your payment account. Currency conversion is handled automatically by our payment processor and described in detail in our PI GATE Payments Policy.

2. Fee Bypass

Any action taken by a seller to avoid paying fees is considered fee avoidance and is strictly prohibited by PI GATES. This includes, for example, encouraging buyers to purchase an item from your PI GATES store through another site. A transaction initiated on PI GATES cannot be finalized outside of PI GATES. The price displayed in each product or service listing description should be an accurate representation of the sale. Sellers may not change the price of the item after a sale for the purpose of avoiding PI GATES transaction fees, misrepresent the geographic location of the item for sale (service or product), or use another user’s account without permission.

3. Payment of your PI GATES fees

PI GATES will automatically deduct any fees payable from your payment account. If you have sufficient funds in your payment account, no further action is required for payment. If your payment account does not have sufficient funds, you are responsible for paying all charges due within 15 days of your monthly statement date, or the account will be considered overdue, and PI GATES may charge the bank card linked to your account or take other steps to obtain the funds. If you make a sale while in arrears, the net amount of the sale will be used to meet your outstanding balance. You can pay your outstanding balance manually through the payment methods offered by PI GATES.

Your statement is available in your Payments account at the beginning of each month and provides details of all sales and charge activity for the previous month along with the Analytics Report associated with Business Accounts.

PI GATES may suspend your selling privileges at any time pending payment of your outstanding balance.

Automatic billing (currently in France only)

When you enroll in the PI GATES Autopay program, any charges payable that are not covered by the funds in your payment account will be charged to the credit card associated with your account on the first day of the month or when your current balance is greater than or equal to the fee threshold. As part of the use of the program, you accept the following conditions.

A. You authorize PI GATES to store your payment card information and to debit that card, on the first day of each calendar month, for the charges accrued during the previous month, and each time the balance of the charges reaches the designated threshold for your account. When you register, PI GATES will charge the amount of your current balance to the credit card on file.

B. When your card account is debited, PI GATES will send you an email indicating the amount charged. You can also view this information by accessing your account on PI GATE.

C. If the card account you registered with is closed, the account number changes, or an amount payable is rejected by your card issuer, you must update your card information or add a new number card to your PI GATES account. If your direct debit is declined by the issuer for any reason, your PI GATES account may be suspended or terminated, but you must still pay your balance owing by other means. Your authorization applies to any successor card to the current card or to any replacement card provided by you or your card issuer.

D. You may opt out of automatic billing and switch to manual payment by changing your subscription plan to one of the annual professional plans offered by PI GATES and updating your payment settings in your PI GATES account. This means that an annual automatic payment can be made to your card account while we process your application.

E. Suspended or terminated Members remain liable to pay PI GATES all outstanding fees.

4. PI GATES Payments

PI GATES Payments allows sellers to accept various forms of payment in their local currency when using PI GATES services. Sellers enrolled in PI GATES Payments accept payments from buyers from major credit or debit cards accepted by PI GATES, PI GATES Gift Cards, and PI GATES Promo Codes (subject to applicable limits), by the through certain payment services by bank or credit card, Visa, Master Card, bank transfer, via PayPal (if available), Apple Pay, Google Pay or Klarna (if available).

5. Taxes

Except in the specific circumstances set forth below, you are responsible for collecting and paying all taxes associated with the use of PI GATES services and sales made through these services. . In no event shall PI GATES be responsible for paying Seller Taxes due to sales of their services and products using PI GATES services.

A. List your items for sale on PI GATES

To comply with applicable French and EU tax laws, PI GATES will calculate the percentage and amount of Taxes (VAT, or GST) on each sales invoice.

If you are selling on PI GATES, applicable taxes must be included in the prices shown on your product listings. Note that some countries may use other terms for VAT, for example GST, but we will refer to VAT, GST and any local taxes collectively as ‘VAT’ unless the context requires otherwise.

It is entirely your responsibility to ensure that your listings are categorized correctly, and you agree to indemnify PI GATE for all losses resulting from your misclassification of your listings.

Note that the PI GATES fees do not include any withholding taxes that may apply in France or in your country (outside France). Payment of the full PI GATES fee is mandatory, and you are not permitted to deduct any withholding taxes.

Also note that some countries require PI GATES to apply VAT on any fees that may be charged to you under this policy, and that the fees described in this policy do not include such VAT.

B. Taxes on Seller Services

Sales tax on subscription fees

Where applicable, state sales tax will be applied and charged to PI GATES subscription fees and other fees for services offered by PI GATES.

VAT on seller fees

Depending on the status and location of your business, PI GATES may be required to apply VAT on monthly vendor fees. VAT is charged on all PI GATES fees for sellers residing in countries where VAT must be applied.

C. Taxes we collect from buyers and remit on behalf of seller

Sales Tax:

In countries that apply sales tax (VAT or GST), PI GATES will calculate the amount of sales tax from the buyer and pay it to the seller with the price of service or product sold, and this is the seller’s responsibility to remit it to the relevant tax authorities. If the sale was made through PI GATES Payments, the sales tax amount will appear on your sales invoice for each service or product.
